When we first visited Greers Ferry Lake we could not believe the beauty of it. The water was so clear -the air was so clean – and there were no mosquitoes! This was unbelievable to us because we came from an area where the water was muddy and the mosquitoes were everywhere.
On our first trip to the lake, it was just the two of us, and we stayed in a small motel room. Later we camped at a Corps of Engineers’ campground in the area around Heber Springs. Then we got a camper on the back of our pickup truck, and we roamed from the Heber Springs area over to the Narrows area. We stayed in the campgrounds there. Then we spent a couple of summer vacations at the Narrows Inn. We were staying there when we found a small resort called Devil’s Fork. We stayed every summer there for a number of years. We loved the lake and the friendly atmosphere so much that we only took one vacation to another place. That was the summer we took our children, a son and a daughter, to Disney World. But the lake always drew our family together, and every year my brother and other family members and friends would join us for water skiing, swimming and hiking up the trail at Sugarloaf. We enjoyed picnics and badminton and other games, along with the daily activities on the lake.
One summer we were fortunate enough to find a small mobile home for sale in the Greers Ferry Lake area, and the entire extended family piled in each summer and every other chance we could. It was crowded but great. We really had some good times there. Over the years we obtained a couple of other properties, and since we couldn’t live in all of them, we decided to rent space to vacationers so others could have the opportunity to stay in a clean, comfy place while enjoying the various types of activities offered by the lake.
Well, that’s how we got into the resort rental business, and we invite you to come and stay at one of our Greers Ferry Lake Cabins.
We think you will love it as much as we do!
